Star Lending Group is a mortgage company founded in 2016 in Prosper, Texas. We originate home loans in the states where we are licensed: Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida. We are not a nationwide lender.
Derrick (Rick) Hill founded the company and serves as Founder & President. He has more than 23 years in financial services, spanning team leadership, credit, loan structuring, and regulated mortgage operations.
Over his career he has personally produced more than $720 million across 2,400-plus transactions. At Star Lending he built the brokerage from the ground up: recruiting and coaching loan officers, managing state regulatory examinations, and keeping referral relationships with Realtors, builders, banks, and credit unions.
In 2024 the company closed about $41 million across 96 loans. The work is local. You get a licensed loan officer on your file, plain-language guidance, and a process built around your household, not a national call center.
